Harvest
Next Thursday 13 October, we will be celebrating Harvest. We are having a
harvest assembly at 9.10am that day, and all parents are welcome to join us.
This is how we are hoping families will support the children and school:
As we did last year, we will be supporting charities at home and overseas:
donations to our local foodbank
raising funds for CAFOD.
1. Donations to the foodbank would be gratefully received any day next
week, up to and including the morning of Thursday 13 October. Non-
perishable items such as cereals, tea, coffee, pasta, tins and jars would be
gratefully received.
2. Cake sale to raise funds for CAFOD – donations of cakes (no nuts please) would be
gratefully received on Wednesday or Thursday morning.
3. As we are supporting CAFOD’s Brighten Up campaign, please help your
child to come in non-uniform on Thursday wearing brightly-coloured
clothes.
4. On Thursday, children can bring some change for the cake sale. Children will have a choice of
cake in return for their donation into a cash ‘bucket’. We will not be pricing cakes nor giving
change; all children will be able to have a cake or two.
I am aware that many families may be experiencing financial hardship at this time. Please only
contribute if you are able. Furthermore, any donations, no matter how small, are very welcome – it
is our collective contribution that will make a difference. All children will be able to join in with our
assembly and praying for others; wear bright clothes on Thursday and enjoy a cake.
Thank you very much for your support.
Yours sincerely
