Reading Information Session
We are holding a reading information session on
Wednesday 19 October from 5.30 – 6.30pm
and all parents and carers are welcome.
Learning to read and developing a love of reading are key to children’s academic success and a
priority in our school curriculum. We hope that as many parents as possible will come along
to find out some key messages about our approach to reading and helping children to develop a
love of reading. The session will be led by Mrs Mackenzie – our Early Reading Lead and
Reception teacher, and Mrs Whincup – our English Subject Leader and Year 3 & 4 teacher.
The first half of the session will focus on phonics and early reading development and the second
part will be about developing reading and comprehension skills. Through it all, developing, and
importantly a lifelong love of reading.
