Thank you for supporting our sponsored Walk for Ukraine. Some children were talking this morning in
assembly about walks they are going on this weekend. We are feeling positive about achieving our
goal of £500 miles!
On Monday, when we go to St Nicholas Field to walk and then to pray together, children from St
George’s, St Wilfrid’s and Our Lady Queen of Martyrs will be praying for peace at the same time – St
George’s and OLQM in their school grounds and St Wilfrid’s at Minster Gardens. As we pray for peace,
one of the prayers we will all use is the prayer below:
A Prayer for Ukraine
God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen

Archbishop Stephen Cottrell
We will need parents to accompany us, but, even if we have enough helpers, you may also just
like to come along to for the walk and to pray with us.
