Welcome to St Aelred’s Nursery
Children enjoy coming to our nursery where they are happy and safe. We support all children in being curious to learn and confident to play and explore; we nurture and encourage them to become independent in the setting.
Our Nursery is led by a qualified teacher working with experienced support staff; EYFS is overseen by our Early Years Leader.

St Aelred’s Nursery is part of our Early Years provision. Nursery and Reception Class each have their own base, but they also share our spacious EYFS setting. This ensures that there is access to a variety of indoor and outdoor activities; that Nursery children flourish as Reception pupils are positive role-models; and that there is an easy transition to starting school.
We seek to build positive relationships with parents so that we get to know your child as an individual and so that we can work in effective partnership with you, in helping your child to learn and develop. As well as informal day-to-day communication, we use Tapestry for keeping parents informed of their child’s progress. We will invite parent and carers to a ‘focus child’ parents’ meeting termly and children receive an end-of-year report before stating school.
As part of St Aelred’s school, Nursery children benefit from what school has to offer including joining in with events such as sports day, Christmas celebrations and performances; themed days and week such as Earth Day activities; use of school facilities such as our playing field.
Nursery places are for mornings for up to 15 hours, from 8.45 to 11.45am. Although we currently offer up to 15 hours, we are planning to move to 30 hour provision during 2022. Where parents would like to book a paid place, because their free hours are used up elsewhere, we charge £13.50 for a 3 hour morning session.
If you would like to find out more, visit our Nursery or request a place for your child, please contact the school office: 01904 806075 or email@example.com
Places booked at breakfast or after-school club are permanent places so that parents and carers have the reliability of their childcare needs being met from week to week. Ad-hoc sessions are available and we will always try and accommodate your child care needs.
Please contact the school office for further information, current charges and a booking form.
